Regulations of IAM
- General regulations of IAM is compiled into a booklet: Rules and Regulations of IAM, which will soon be updated in several formats.
- In line with the decision of the University Senate, IAM announces the conditions on who and when to use the Institute's address as an affiliation in publications (also available in Turkish).
- In order to transfer from a non-thesis option to a thesis option, the requirements for transferring from a non-thesis option to a thesis option within the program must be fulfilled.
- Based on the Middle East Technical University Rules and Regulations Governing Graduate Studies (also available in Turkish), we have adjusted the Principles of Composing the MSc and PhD Thesis Jury Members.
PhD Qualifying Examination
Students in the PhD programmes at IAM must pass the related PhD Qualifying Examination, which takes place twice a year in general. For more details: specific rules, exam contents, references, and possibly, past exam questions, please check

- PhD Qualifying Exam in Scientific Computing.
Thesis Preparations
- IAM has its own set of rules on the thesis format; click on the List of To-Do (check-list) when Writing your Thesis.

- We suggest you also should check the Frequently Asked Questions on the topic.
- In order to be able to defend the graduate thesis, students should satisfy the following conditions:
- MSc students must prepare a draft of a manuscript that is to be submitted to a national or an international journal along with their MSc thesis. In case of an already existing publication based on his/her thesis' studies a copy of the paper would be sufficient.
- PhD students must have submitted a manuscript for possible publication in one of the SCI, SCI-E, SSCI or AHCI indexed journals. This manuscript must be handed over to the jury members together with the thesis' draft. In case of an already existing publication based on his/her thesis' studies a copy of the paper would be sufficient.
- This rule will be valid for the students enrolled to the programmes at IAM starting from 2019-2020 Fall Semester.

- Term Project,
- Report for Thesis Monitoring Committee,
- Qualification in PhD,
