The aim of Institute of Applied Mathematics (IAM) Thesis Awards is to increase the research power of  the institute  as well as our university and our country, and to contribute the scientific development in Turkey.

Within the scope of this award, the MSc and PhD thesis completed between September 16, 2019 - September 25, 2020 will be  evaluated by an academic commitee. The thesis should have contribution on one or more of the followings:

  • Contribution to scientific development;
  • Contribution to technological development;
  • Contribution to society and education;
  • Contribution to environment, health, economy, and sustainable development;
  • Potential of international scientific publication.

Application Deadline is December 15, 2020.

Rules and Regulations:

  • The application is made by the thesis author/advisor to the institute.
  • The MSc and PhD thesis must be completed in one of programmes/departments within Institute of Applied Mathematics.
    • The thesis must be submitted to IAM and approved by IAM. Applications for thoses that have entered to the jury but have not been submitted to IAM are not considered.
    • It is not required that the student has his/her diploma or certificate of leaving.
  • Applications made after the deadline are not accepted.
  • Applications having missing documents will not be taken into consideration. No additional time is allowed to complete the missing documents.
  • The thesis that has not received any thesis award before will be considered.
  • In case of ethical problems related to the thesis or publications derived from the thesis, the application is not taken into consideration. 

In order to apply, the following forms must be completed and submitted to IAM before the date announced:

  • Form A: Thesis Award Application Form
  • Form B: Letter explaining why thesis supervisor nominates the thesis.
  • Form C: Curriculum Vitae of student
  • Form D: Extended summary of the thesis in English consisting of
    • Abstract
    • Major results and discusion
    • Conclusion
    • References

     Extended summary should be minimum in three pages and maximum in six pages. Please, use the \( \LaTeX{} \) template: iamPaperFormat-v.1.0.rc1.

  • Form E: List of publications related to the thesis
